Par Ruins and Snow Crystal Ruins
4dungeon
In accordance with its regional placement in the cold, the Par Ruins is composed of snow and ice. Here, you can experience the thrill of battling Boss monsters in an entirely different way.

1. Introduction: Par Ruins

Par Ruins is located northeast of Vales, the village of the Giants.

Unlike other ruins, the location of the Par Ruins does not change. Furthermore, it offers a new battle experience when the Giants and the Humans enter together, which also allows you to acquire special items.

Although it is located near Vales, it is encouraged that the Elves and the Humans who support the Elves avoid going through Vales, as they will be attacked by the Giant guards if spotted.

2. How to Acquire a Snow Crystal

Par Ruins is divided into regular Par Ruins and the Snow Crystal Ruins, and the type of monsters and rewards vary. To find the Mirror Witch, you must go to the Snow Crystal Ruins.

The [Snow Crystal] is needed in order for you to enter the Snow Crystal Ruins. Said Snow Crystal, rewarded at a pre-established rate, can be acquired in the reward room after clearing the regular Par Ruins.

3. Construction of the Snow Crystal Ruins

1) The Structure

The Snow Crystal Ruins is comprised of 3 levels of floors. Each floor is of moderate length, though all of these floors surpass the difficulty level of regular Par Ruins.

The unique ruins will present you with a selection of different ways to battle the Boss monster depending on with whom you enter—whether the Giants and the Humans enter the ruins together or independently.

You can acquire special rewards if you choose to select a special battle method, so it is encouraged that you try entering by forming a party comprised of both the Giants and the Humans.

2) The Monsters

Floor Complete list of Monsters
1st    Ice Mimic, Ice Hyena, Snow Imp, Shrieker, Snow Zombie
2nd    Ice Mimic, Ice Bison, Bandersnatch, Snow Imp, Shrieker
3rd    Ice Mimic, Snow Imp, Shrieker, Snow Zombie, Ice Bear

Amongst the monsters you will encounter, the Bandersnatch and the Snow Zombie share similar characteristics in terms of the way they attack. However, unlike the zombies that approach you slowly, these two monsters will come at you with speed and even automatically block your attacks, so be on the lookout when you battle them.

4. Wendigo and the Mirror Witch

The Boss monsters of the Snow Crystal Ruins are Wendigo and the Mirror Witch.

Different from other Boss monsters that you’ve battled in the past, the Snow Crystal Ruins offers three different ways to battle its Boss monsters. As briefly mentioned above, special rewards are given when the Giants and the Humans enter the ruins together.

1) Defeat Wendigo using a weapon other than the Ice Pole

If you battle using this method, you will not be able to battle the Mirror Witch.

Wendigo has high attack rate, and he also automatically blocks your attacks like the Snow Zombies. Use the attack and magic skills you have acquired throughout the course of your adventures to defeat Wendigo efficiently.

While you can clear the ruins by defeating Wendigo using this method, you will not be rewarded special items.

2) Defeat the Mirror Witch after defeating Wendigo using the Ice Pole

You will be able to battle the Mirror Witch using method number 2 and 3.

In order to battle the Mirror Witch, you must first defeat Wendigo using the [Ice Pole], which only the Giants can use.

The Ice Pole hangs down from the ceiling of the Boss Room and will break off when Wendigo uses the Stomp attack; use the Ice Pole to defeat Wendigo to proceed to battle the infuriated Mirror Witch.

When you infuriate the Mirror Witch, the ice covering the Boss Room will begin to crumble and you will see the Mirror Witch.

After a short cinematic clip, your battle with the Mirror Witch will begin.

The Mirror Witch uses magic and melee attacks, and she can also revive Wendigo after a certain amount of time passes.

Once the mirror has formed, defeating once-dead Wendigo will become pointless as the Mirror Witch will continuously revive him over and over again.

Also, the Mirror Witch will transport using the 4 mirrors located in the corners of the Boss Room and recover her HP by hiding in the mirror. So keep that in mind as you use your battle and magic skills wisely to defeat the Mirror Witch.

You can clear the Snow Crystal Ruins when you defeat the Mirror Witch, and if you successfully defeat the infuriated Mirror Witch, you might even be able to acquire [Kirine’s Mirror] at a low rate.

3) Shatter all the mirrors and defeat the Mirror Witch after defeating Wendigo using an Ice Pole

This method is similar to number 2, only you can defeat the Mirror Witch after breaking all the mirrors in the Boss Room. When you begin to strike the mirrors, a message will appear indicating that the mirrors are protected by magic, and inform you that they cannot be broken.

To break the mirrors, you must have an [Ice Flute], which can be acquired in the reward room of the Par Ruins’ 2nd floor, in possession. Only the Humans can play the Ice Flute to mitigate the power of the magic that protects the mirrors and eventually crack them. When this happens, you can strike the mirrors a few times to shatter them.

Once you play the Ice Flute, all the mirrors will have cracked so you won’t have to play again.

Look out for the Mirror Witch when you strike the mirror.

* The mirrors will not crack if you fail at Instrument-Playing skill when playing the flute.

When you break all the mirrors, the Mirror Witch will become infuriated yet again and grow in height. In accordance with her height transformation, her attack and defense rates will also be enhanced, and she will become more aggressive.

The infuriated Mirror Witch will not be able to use the mirrors to transport or revive her Wendigo, but she will use a special magic skill called the [Ice Hug] instead. This skill allows the Mirror Witch to duplicate herself and attack by having her duplicate chase the character in its ghost-like form.

If you fail to avoid the duplicate and are attacked by the Ice Hug skill, it will freeze your body and consume your HP for a certain amount of time. You will also incur major damage at the end, so you must always remain alert of your surroundings to avoid being attacked.

When you defeat the infuriated Mirror Witch, you will have a chance to acquire an [Ice Rose] at a low rate.
