5. Restoring the Goddess Statue

Do you remember the view of Bangor after completing the Restoring the Goddess Statue quest in Peaca Dungeon?

Jennifer, Riocard, and the priest of Bangor, Comgan were inside what appears to be Barri Dungeon, checking out the statue of the Goddess. This is when they heard a strange noise from below the statue…

This episode will kick off with finishing up the clip on Barri Dungeon.

1) Price of Barri Dungeon

A strange, negative ball of energy emanating from deep inside the dungeon...

[Comgan]
I knew it. The Statue here is quite damaged, too. It's also losing the protective powers. It should be no time before the separation caused by the Goddess breaks... If we don't restore this fast…

…Hmmm? I hear something...

[Jennifer]
Hey, Price. What are you doing here?

[Price]
I can dig like no one else... I mean, I heard that you all went into the dungeon, so I was just wondering if there's something exciting going on inside… hahaha.

[Jennifer]
Oh jeez, we're not here to play around! The Statue of Goddess has been destroyed, so there's no way one can tell if the Fomors will suddenly ambush us…

[Price]
What? What? I am beginning to regret following you guys... Let's just get out of here right now! Now!

[Comgan]
Okay, then. Thanks for helping out, everyone.

[Riocard]
Wait... didn't Price just come out from the inside, not from the door…?

After viewing the Bangor clip, you’ll notice that the restoration of the Goddess Statue in Peaca Dungeon is complete.

Now all we need to do is report results to Aodhan, and we’re done with the restoration of the statues in the dungeons of Emain Macha.

[Aodhan]
Great, great work. Thanks to your tireless effort, the destroyed Statues of the Goddess in dungeons around the area have all been restored.

Other towns have also started the restoration process, but the Fomors seem to be putting up quite a resistance.

I feel that other towns will soon hear of your work, and ask for help.  If that happens, I suggest you lend your helping hand to them.

 ...Best of luck to you.

Open the quest window and press Complete on the quest [Wyllow’s Request]. Please know that even if you have completed the quest, you will not proceed to the next one until you press Complete on this quest.

2) The Priest of Bangor

4-5 days later in Erinn time, you’ll receive a request from Comgan.

Comgan is the priest of Bangor. Let’s find him near the entrance of Bangor.

[Comgan]
You're here. Thank you so much for coming. We were afraid this may happen soon, and as expected, the dungeons around Bangor are also going through the same fate. The number of the Statues of the Goddess destroyed has been increasing by the day.

Unlike other places, Bangor does not have its own army or a fleet of guards, so the dangers we'll face if the Statues aren't restored is much bigger than other towns.

...I had talked to Priest James about this matter, and he told me Wyllow, the Head Priest, have already talked to you about this. Thank goodness.

I can restore the Goddess Statue no problem, but if there isn't someone that can sufficiently clear out the area from the Fomors, their forces will interrupt and affect the ritual that takes place to restore the Statues.

Please help us restore the Statues at the dungeon.

Sure, I should help out on this. What should do first?

[Comgan]
To get to the area where the Statues have been destroyed, please go see Seumas at the Dragon site of ruins. Thanks in advance...

Our mission this time is to restore the statue of Goddess in the dungeon of Bangor. Seumas has the details on this, so let’s go to the Dragon Ruins in Gairech, which is located up north.

Seumas, I am here to restore the statue in the dungeon of Bangor. Please tell me what to do.

[Seumas]
...Ok, to get right to the point... The goddess statue in Barri Dungeon is deteriorating more and more.  Everyone is coming out and trying to help, but we're still shorthanded... Can you first take care of all the Fomors inside Barri Dungeon...? That way, Priest Comgan can go ahead with the ritual to restore the statue…

...As long as you watch out for Imps and Goblins, you should be okay, although there are rumors that Ogres appear as well.  As you probably already know, you can take your friends with you.

[Seumas]
Here, take this. In order to get to where the damaged goddess statue is, you'll have to change this Command Scroll into a pass.

The command scroll Seumas gave us is of similar kind to the one used for restoration in Emain Macha dungeons.

[Seumas]
As far as materials, you'll need a Mana Herb and a Holy Water of Lymilark... I'm sure this isn't your first time, so I'll spare you the details.

Oh, and not only do you need to restore the one in Barri dungeon, but the one inside Fiodh Dungeon as well.

We'll discuss that once you take care of the one inside Barri dungeon. Thanks again.

After completing the conversation with Seumas, you will notice that your inventory now holds the 'Fomor Command Scroll (Barri Dungeon)'. Let’s use the Handicraft skill to convert this into the 'Barri Dungeon Pass (For Statue Restoration)’.

3) Restoring the Goddess Statue

Barri Dungeon is a dungeon located in Bangor. When you offer [Barri Dungeon Pass (For Statue Restoration)] on the altar, you’ll then see a clip of Ruairi and the Ghost Armor.

[Ruairi]
Destroy the Statue of Goddess! Destroy the gift of God that shields the foolish, false world of humans from others!!

…This level of deceit and fallacy the humans live in... I'll destroy them all with my bare hands.

Just as we suspected, the one responsible for destroying the Goddess Statues was… Ruairi.

After the clip ends, you’ll find yourself inside Barri Dungeon. Walk downstairs and you’ll notice that Comgan is in the process of restoring the statue.

Barri Dungeon with the destroyed statue holds a similar level of difficulty as a regular Barri Dungeon.
The dungeon boss is the Warrior Ogre, and if you find yourself having a difficult time defeating the monster by yourself, and then form a party before entering the dungeon.

After you defeat all the monsters in the Boss Room, you’ll see a clip that features the statue being restored.

Morrighan, the guardian of the warriors and the Goddess of the mankind...
…Bless us with power to protect our loved ones…

...Bless us with the courage to use that power for justice...
...the knowledge and wisdom to carry out the good deeds...

...Bless us with the love that encompasses all things we gain through the wisdom and knowledge...
...and protect us in the name of that love...

...and I pray that your sword will be reawakened once more...

You have just concluded the restoring of the Goddess Statue in Barri Dungeon. You’ll easily notice the fact through the quest scroll.

The next episode will cover the efforts of restoring the destroyed statue of the Goddess in the other dungeon in Bangor, Fiodh.

[Note 1]
To enter the dungeon, you must have the [Pass] with you. The pass can be created using the Handicraft skill and the [Fomor Command Scroll]. Handicraft skill can be learned by reading the skill book that can be purchased from Dunbarton bookstore in detail.

[Note 2]
The materials required to create the pass will be the Fomor Scroll from the NPC, Holy Water of Lymilark, and 1 Mana Herb. Holy Water of Lymilark and Mana Herb won’t be available through the NPC, so you’ll have to prepare for them in advance.

[Note 3]
If you have not learned the Handicraft skill, you can at least set up all the materials and give them to an NPC nearby to make one in place of the Fomor Command Scroll. The pass for Bangor can be obtained through Priest Comgan

[Note 4]
The dungeon that has the destroyed statue features a difficulty level of a regular dungeon or lower.
If you fail to complete the ‘Restoring the Goddess Statue’ quest, talk to the NPC that gave you the pass and receive the Fomor Command Scroll once more.
