6. Paladin’s Retreat

1) Restoring Fiodh Dungeon

After restoring the statue in Barri Dungeon, you’ll meet Seumas once more.

[Seumas]
Oh...!! (gasp, gasp)  How was Barri Dungeon...?

Well, it wasn’t really all that…

[Seumas]
Phew.... Okay, now around here... there's Fiodh Dungeon... take this first.

It’s a Fomor Command Scroll. Should I go make another Pass with this?

[Seumas]
The procedure is the same, and you can bring a friend along if you need one. It may take a little bit of time to acquire Mana Herb and the Holy Water of Lymilark...

...Everyone's been out there helping restore the dungeons and the statues, so we're currently really short on Mana Herb and the Holy Water of Lymilark. I feel bad that I can't give you any right now...
Just so you know, Fiodh Dungeon is full of animals that are controlled by the Fomors. Don't underestimate them just because they are some field animals... You will find yourself in grave danger.

Please come back and see me once the restoration for Fiodh Dungeon is complete. I can't personally check every part of the restoration process.

I appreciate it.

After completing the conversation with Seumas, you’ll notice that your inventory now carries [Fomor Command Scroll (Fiodh Dungeon)]. Then, use your Handicraft skill to combine the Fomor Command Scroll, Mana Herb, and Holy Water of Lymilark to create the [Fiodh Dungeon Pass].

Once you offer the Pass on the altar of Fiodh Dungeon, you’ll enter the dungeon with the broken Goddess Statue.

The Fiodh Dungeon with the broken statue offers the same level of difficulty as a regular Fiodh Dungeon, and the broken statue is restored by Priest Comgan.

The last Boss Room will feature a Flying Sword and a Small Golem. Once you defeat all the monsters in the dungeon, you’ll see that Priest Comgan succeeds in restoring the last Goddess Statue.

Once you open the quest window and confirm that the statue has been restored, you’ll need to report it to Seumas.

Seumas, we have restored the statue in Fiodh Dungeon.

[Seumas]
 ... you are here.

(gasp, gasp) great work there... Thanks to your help, the Statues of the Goddess are restored. Thank goodness... puff. But then... (gasp, gasp)... I have been hearing some news lately that ... (gasp, gasp) concerns me greatly...

News? What news?

[Seumas]
I hear that... someone... huff... will come and destroy it once more... (gasp, gasp) a black knight... wearing black armors...

This... huff... is really not going the way we expected to go... Please... huff... be careful... Oh, and... huff... please take care of other towns, too...

A knight wearing black armor... I guess the rumors of Ruairi sightings are slowly spreading.

Once you end the conversation with Seumas, you’ll be able to complete the quest [Comgan’s Request].

2) Restoring the Goddess Statue in Dunbarton Dungeons

4-5 Erinn days after completing the quest, you’ll receive a request from Priestess Kristell.

You can find Kristell at church in Dunbarton.

[Kristell]
Oh you're here. Thank you for coming. Honestly, when I heard about your work through Wyllow, the Head Priest at the Church in Emain Macha, I was a bit shocked.

I am not sure if other people talking about your work in great detail is necessary a good thing, but... what is true is that you are definitely becoming an important figure in our community.

I was just trying to help… and I guess people have been talking about it. So… should I help restoring the statues here in Dunbarton as well?

[Kristell]
...Ah, wait, there's no time for small talk. As expected, we have found Statues of Goddess that have been destroyed in dungeons around Dunbarton.

First, we'll need you to enter the dungeon where the Statue is destroyed and remove the Fomors in the premise. That's when myself and other priests will hold the ritual that'll restore the Statue. For more detail, please go see Eavan at the Town Office.

I'll be here working on something else, so please go see her right now. Good luck.

The town office in Dunbarton is also known for having a Lost and Found center. Let’s talk to Eavan.

[Eavan]
Welcome. I heard from Priestess Kristell and have been waiting for you. Let me explain all the details. First of all... according to the adventurers who patrol the region, damaged goddess statues have been discovered in both Rabbie and Math Dungeon in Dunbarton.

Judging by when they were damaged, we are trying to first restore Rabbie Dungeon, and then move on to Math Dungeon.

Since you've other helped with several other dungeons, I'm sure you already know, but you must first use the Fomor Command Scroll and convert it to a dungeon pass.

This time, it’s the Fomor Command Scroll of Rabbie Dungeon.

[Eavan]
You can make the dungeon pass by applying Mana Herb and the Holy Water of Lymilark on the order I just gave you, using the Handicraft skill.

I would give you the materials... but we are short on the materials because there are many others who are helping with this mission. I hope you understand.

It’s okay. There’s nothing else we can do. I’ll go make a pass with it.

[Eavan]
All you'll face inside Rabbie Dungeon is mainly Bats, Mimics, or Skeletons. There might be some Skeleton Wolves, so be careful of those. If you go with some friends, it'll be much easier.

...Once you wipe out all the Fomors inside Rabbie Dungeon, Priestess Kristell will go in after you and restore the goddess statue.

Then, come back to me and let me know that Rabbie Dungeon has been restored.
 ...

Do you have anything else to me? You look awfully concerned…

[Eavan]
...Oh, it's nothing. Never mind…

After the conversation with Eavan, you’ll notice that your inventory now has a Fomor Command Scroll (Rabbie Dungeon). Let’s use the Handicraft skill to make a Pass out of it.

After offering the Pass on the altar of Rabbie Dungeon, you’ll enter the dungeon that contains the destroyed statue of the Goddess.

The difficulty level for the Rabbie Dungeon with the destroyed statue of the Goddess is similar to that of a regular Rabbie Dungeon, and once you walk downstairs, you’ll notice that Kristell is working n restoring the statue.

Per characteristics of Rabbie Dungeon, if you enter the dungeon alone, you’ll run into Succubus; if you enter with a group, you’ll run into Gold Goblin at the Boss Room.

Once you defeat all the monsters, you’ll see the Goddess restoring the last statue of Goddess.

Morrighan, the guardian of the warriors and the Goddess of the mankind
…Bless us with power to protect our loved ones…

...Bless us with the courage to use that power for justice...
...the knowledge and wisdom to carry out the good deeds...

...Bless us with the love that encompasses all things we gain through the wisdom and knowledge...
...and protect us in the name of that love...

...and I pray that your sword will be reawakened once more...

Once you have completed the restoration of the statue in Rabbie Dungeon, you’ll have to report the results to Eavan.

Eavan, we have restored the destroyed statue in Rabbie Dungeon.

[Eavan]
You're back safely. Great work there.

This time, it’s Math Dungeon, right?

[Eavan]
Yes, use this to make a pass for Math Dungeon and eliminate the Fomors inside. You've already done this many times, so I won't go over details on how to make this.

Math Dungeon is notorious for Kobolds and Hellhounds... I strongly suggest you avoid the Firebolt from Hellhound at all cost. If you need help, you should also bring a friend over to help you out.
Thanks in advance. Please be careful...

No worries!

You’ll now use the [Fomor Command Scroll (Math Dungeon)] to make a new Pass for Math Dungeon.

Restoring the statue in Math Dungeon will complete the restoration process of all dungeons in Dunbarton.

Once you offer the Pass on the altar of Math Dungeon, you’ll be sent to the spot where the destroyed statue is.

Math Dungeon with the destroyed statue holds a similar level of difficulty as a regular Math Dungeon, and the Boss Room will feature 3 Hellhounds. Once you eliminate them all, you’ll view a clip featuring Craig.

3) Ruairi the Dark Knight

[Craig]
This dungeon will also soon be…

[Craig]
What? The Fomors have already reached this far?

We cannot let them destroy another Statue! Everyone, move to the front and prevent them from moving in!

The battle between the Paladins and the Ghost Armors begin, followed by Ruairi’s entrance.

[Craig]
...Hmmm?

[Ruairi]
Paladin trainees... after all these years, they are still the same obnoxious group…

[Craig]
Who is this! Wait… no way… are you…

[Ruairi]
I am the truth that you have conveniently avoided... I am the one abandoned by the God that never heard my pleas...

I am Dark Knight! To all you knights there that worship fallacy, it is time for you to pay for your ignorance!

Fomors, attack!! Destroy the Statue!!

[Craig]
No...! Knight of Lights!! Assume position! Hold your ground!!!!

But Ruairi is holding a decided advantage, and the Paladins are beginning to lose ground against Ghost Armors.

[Craig]
I can't believe this...! I can't believe they are this powerful!!!

Oh no...! Retreat, everyone! Retreat!!

[Ruairi]
Paladins... a bunch of no-good cowards that only act strong against the weak...
 ......
 where are you...
…I will find you... and you will pay for your sins…

The Paladins retreated, and the Fomors have reached the forefront of Erinn.

As for the one Ruairi’s searching for…

Is it really…?

Once you have completed the restoration of the statue in Math Dungeon, you’ll have to report results to Eavan.

[Eavan]
Thank you so very much. Thanks to your great work, all the dungeons around Dunbarton were able to restore the Statues of the Goddess.

While we were busy restoring the Statues here, however, the dungeon at Emain Macha was ambushed by the Fomors, and the Paladin Knights took major hits while fending off the attack.

I am also hearing that some the Statues that have already been restored are being destroyed again....

So… that’s what I saw…

[Eavan]
I have a question to ask you.
...The Knight of Light that rescued the Goddess...
...is that really you?

Where… did you hear that from...?

[Eavan]
...at least that's what Priest Kristell told me... that you are the one that saved the Goddess... the Knight of Light...

......

...I understand that you are hard at work helping us out, but... I sincerely hope you don't burn out from working too much...

...Fame and glory... they are both very fleeting...

After the conversation with Eavan, you’ll be able to complete the quest [Kristell’s Request].

The Goddess Statues in the dungeons of Dunbarton have all been restored, which means Tir Chonaill’s the only town left.

The Fomors are creeping ever so close to the residential areas… and they are led by the Dark Knight, Ruairi. Ruairi is still consumed with hatred caused from a simple case of misunderstanding, and he is looking for blood.

The next episode will cover the efforts of restoring the statues in Tir Chonaill. It feels like something terrible is on the horizon.

[Note 1]
To enter the dungeon, you must have the [Pass] with you. The pass can be created using the Handicraft skill and the [Fomor Command Scroll]. Handicraft skill can be learned by reading the skill book that can be purchased from Dunbarton bookstore in detail.
