storyThis post is based on “Dark Knight”, the main storyline behind Mabinogi’s G3 Storyline Quests. If you do not wish to find out about what happens next, feel free to return to the previous page and view other strategy guides.
2. The Goddess of Destruction
You have arrived in the Other World at the request of Tarlach, and it is the exact mirrored image of Bangor, only bleak and desolate. In this place, you will find someone trembling in fear… alone.
Let’s find out what events are waiting to unfold in the course of your executing Tarlach’s Request.
1) Morc, the Kobold from the Other World
As Tarlach has mentioned, the pink light indicates the location of the figure you are here to meet. Exit the town that looks just like Bangor.
When you go outside the town, you will see an endless field devoid of any sign of life. Continue to follow the light, and you will find someone at the exact same location as where the ‘Dragon Ruins Excavation Site’ is in Erinn.
A Kobold? He looks just like Goro and Muro of Erinn… But why is he trembling in fear?
[Morc] Human? What are you doing here? Ah… Ahhh...!!! The seal is going to break... The goddess statue is going to be destroyed... Macha, Macha is coming!! The Red Goddess will put everything in flames!!! We need to run. Run away.
The goddess statue is going to be destroyed? What is ‘Macha’? Tell me what it means!
[Morc] ...No, no... Morc did not see anything. I don't know anything!!!
Morc is hesitant to say anything. But it sounds like he knows something… The goddess statue being destroyed and everything burning in flames...? You will be shown a short cinematic clip when you finish your conversation with Morc.
2) Morgant’s Sword
What's this sword? …A promise from the past, Ruairi. ...the power to punish the world...? ...it starts with this.... ...this is the sword that determined my fate From here on out, this will guide you to immense power.
...you know about this...sword? ...Pra...garah... it can't be... it's Pragarah. The holy sword that the Knight of Light used in that deadly war against the Fomors.
...If you're talking about this sword, yes I still vividly remember the stories behind this. ... ...I've heard of the story a million times. The story of a great warrior who courageously fought against the Fomors and managed to turn the tide of the war in our favor...
The hero who is referred to in reverence as the Knight of Light, saving the humanity from all things evil... and, the holy sword that carried the deed of the said hero...
…you must have really liked that story. It's nothing more than a praise song for a hero... Wait...!!! The reason I strived to become a Paladin… was because of him. I promised myself to live the life of that hero. I truly believed my calling was to protect those in need... ... …Lugh Lavada, the Knight of Light... Is that really…you? But then... why...?
…I think you're missing the boat, Ruairi. …I may have been called that in the past. Alas, I have disowned that name a long time ago. …Do not… ever… call me by that name again. I am... ...Morgant the Dark Lord.
[Cichol] To the one that will bring light to the world of darkness. I will personally anoint you in the name of the God of Darkness to destroy the Seal that sustains this world full of arrogant, deceiving humans.
…Do not ever forget the pitiful look of the Goddess who abandoned your cry for help.
[Ruairi] ...Yes!
[Cichol] …Never forget the fact that the resurrection of Macha rests squarely on this war. All this is just a prelude of things to come.
[Dark Lord] …I am well aware of that.
The clip will conclude with the Dark Lord’s response. It seems Ruairi has chosen to follow the path of the Dark Knight… He has received the holy sword, Pragarah, from Morgant who was once known as a hero—Lugh, the Knight of Light.
There must be a reason why he has disowned the name ‘Lugh’ and deviated from the Light.
3) Macha the Goddess of Destruction
Upon completion of the short clip, your character will be transported to Bangor in Erinn.
Open the Quest window to complete the [Tarlach’s Request] quest.
It is now time to look into who Macha is whom both Morc and Cichol mentioned. Open your Travel Diary to confirm that you have acquired the [Macha the Goddess of Destruction] keyword.
[Macha the Goddess of Destruction] It's a goddess of destruction, one that'll bring a disaster of epic proportion on this world. Tarlach might want to know about this… is this the only information we have on it?
Use this keyword to talk to Tarlach in Sidhe Sneachta.
Tarlach, it was Morc the Kobold who was trembling in fear in the Other World. Only thing Morc said was that Goddess Macha will burn everything in flames.
[Tarlach] ...Macha... The Goddess of Destruction...? She's going to burn everything down...? A Kobold from the other world told you that...? Wait, are you talking about... the red Goddess... Macha!!
Tarlach, do you know anything about Goddess Macha?
[Tarlach] Have you heard about the Badhbh Cath by any chance...? It is the name for the three goddesses who control all wars... Morrighan, Macha... and I don't remember the name of the third one...
They all disappeared after the Mag Tuireadh war... Since Morrighan is the Goddess who helped humans the most, people still remember her and talk about her.
...However... Macha... Does that mean she survived the war...? I can't believe she had something to do with destroying the seal that blocks off the other world from here...
Tarlach, tell me more about the breaking of the seal and what Macha had to do with it.
[Tarlach] ...We may have to look into Macha in detail. Please help me.
...here’s a book for you. Please gather up some information on what the residents of Emain Macha feel about Macha in general in this book.
What the residents of Emain Macha think about the goddess?
[Tarlach] ...That’s because... Emain Macha is named after that Goddess… the Goddess of Destruction...
When you finish your conversation with Tarlach, you will receive a new quest as well as a book on Emain Macha.
In the next episode, you will talk to the residents of Emain Macha and find out more on Goddess Macha, and read the book Tarlach has given you.
[Note 1] Note that Morc is not located in Bangor of the Other World, but outside the town instead. Follow the light to spot him easily.
