I. Getting to Taillteann
Taillteann was once widely hailed as a fortress guarding the capital of Tara. These days, it’s more famous for its Alchemy.
To get to Taillteann, you can either go through Sliab Cuilin or Abb Neagh.
Sliab Cuillin is a valley located in the western area of Dugald Isle’s Ulaid Forest.
Abb Neagh, on the other hand, can be reached by following the road next to Dunbarton’s Rabbie Dungeon. There, you can find a large like favored by fishermen.
Pass through either of those areas to get to Taillteann, a town surrounded by castle walls.
II. The Alchemy Mastery Skill
An Alchemist must control the attributes of fire, earth, wind, and water. An Alchemist also must be able to use tools such as Ovens and Cylinders to modify substances and control nature itself. Sounds complex, right? Think of an Alchemist as a philosopher and scientist rolled into one, and it might start to make more sense.
To learn the Alchemy Mastery skill, simply equip a [Cylinder]. The Alchemy Mastery skill affects almost all the other skills that fall under the Alchemy category.

III. Transmutation – Fragmentation and Synthesis
With Alchemy, you can take an existing object and either fragmentize it to extract ingredients or synthesize it with other materials to create a new object. The Fragmentation skill and Synthesis skill are learned separately, but you must be near a Dry Oven to use either one.
1. Fragmentation
This one’s a bit of a woozy to explain so pay attention: the Fragmentation skill allows you to extract ingredients out of an item that was previously created using a Production skill. But you usually won’t get exactly the same materials you used to craft the item. The materials you get when you fragmentize an item depends on things like your skill rank, the weather, what day of the week it is, luck... Make sense?
You can learn the Fragmentation skill by purchasing the [About Synthesis and Fragmentation in Alchemy] skill book from Dorren and reading it in detail.
Now, here’s how the skill works. When you click on a Dry Oven or manually use the Fragmentation skill, a Transmutation window appears.
Choose the item you want to fragmentize and you see the possible ingredients you can get. Go ahead and click Fragmentize and see what happens!

2. Synthesis
The Synthesis skill allows you to use several smaller items to create a new item.
Learn the Synthesis skill by chatting with Dorren using the Skills keyword once you’re over level 30. You must already know the Fragmentation skill.
When you click on a Dry Oven or manually use the Synthesis skill, a Transmutation window appears.
Now, you can pile in a bunch of random items to create a new random item...or you can follow a recipe to create a specific item. It’s up to you!
For example, you can synthesize items like Cobwebs, Cheap Fabrics, or even Rose Plate Armor and Taillteann Swords by using random items. If you follow a specific recipe, on the other hand, you can create items like Ice Mines.
* You need at least three ingredients to use the Synthesis skill.
