G3 Main Storyline Part 1
story
This post is based on “Dark Knight”, the main storyline behind Mabinogi’s G3 Storyline Quests. If you do not wish to find out about what happens next, feel free to return to the previous page and view other strategy guides.

1. Destroyed Statues of the Goddess
Upon receiving the message of Goddess Morrighan, enter Erinn and open your Quest window to confirm that you have acquired a new keyword.

[Breaking of the Seal]
Goddess Morrighan appeared and notified us that the seal that blocks Erinn from the Other World is breaking. Better go talk to Tarlach.

The seal is breaking!? That means the army of Cichol can invade Erinn…Let’s rush over to find Tarlach.

1) An Advice from Tarlach

Tarlach, a respected Druid, was one of the warriors who set out to save Goddess Morrighan. To meet him, you must go to the altar of the Druids located north of Sidhe Sneachta.

Tarlach, I have received a message from Goddess Morrighan, and she says that the seal that blocks Erinn from the Other World is breaking. If it breaks, Cichol will try to destroy Erinn… The Goddess has told me to find you.

[Tarlach]
The seal has been destroyed...? The seal that separates Erinn from the other world...? ...Then... that must mean... it's the goddess statue. The one in the dungeon...

The statue of the goddess in the dungeon?

[Tarlach]
...Yes, the goddess statue is a seal made by the power of the Goddess to keep Erinn safe from the power of the Fomors... It seems as though the Fomors will find a way to destroy the goddess statue and invade Erinn through that opened path. Goddess Morrighan must have tried to warn you about this...

I see…

Tarlach begins to recite a spell with his eyes closed and arms stretched out in the air.

[Tarlach]
This… This is...!!! If I heard the voice of mother nature correctly, there is something going on near the Barri Dungeon goddess statue at Bangor. There is a destroyed goddess statue in that dungeon... The path to the other world has been opened there!!!

The goddess statue has already been destroyed…? Is it… Cichol?!

[Tarlach]
...I feel someone trembling in fear. I hear the crying of great distress. It's not coming from Erinn, but echoing from the other world... Something is definitely not right... But there's no way I can figure it out from here... I need your help. First, go and check the destroyed goddess statue inside Barri Dungeon. If I'm not mistaken... You should be able to enter the other world from there.

...I feel that there is someone we must meet in that world.

How do I get to the dungeon that has the destroyed goddess statue?

[Tarlach]
I heard that the owner of the General Shop in that town carries all the passes to Barri Dungeon.
I know it might be a hassle, but you're going to have to talk to him and find out a way to get to the place of the destroyed goddess statue inside that dungeon. That seems to be the only way to get there.

Check the destroyed goddess statue inside Barri Dungeon at Bangor, and find out how the seal is being destroyed. Also, please see if you can identify who is emanating this fearful energy. Thank you.

When you finish your conversation with Tarlach, you will receive a new quest.

In order to enter the dungeon Tarlach has mentioned, you must first acquire a pass to the dungeon; he has said that the pass could be purchased from the General Shop in Bangor, so let’s go talk to Gilmore, the owner of the General Shop.

Gilmore, is there a place called Barri Dungeon which has a goddess statue that has been destroyed? I must go there…

[Gilmore]
What? There's a goddess statue inside Barri Dungeon that is broken? I know of one place like that... Ahem!! …The pass that allows you access is quite expensive... You still want it?

..Fine, that will be 1,500 Gold.

Ah, good thing Gilmore has it. Purchase the pass, as the safety of Erinn now depends on it.

[Gilmore]
Ahem... Why are you going there anyway...? Come back if you need more. I'll sell it to you for a special price of 1,500 Gold...

Check your Inventory to see that the pass you have purchased is in your possession.

When you place the Barri Dungeon Pass on the altar, you will enter the dungeon at where the destroyed goddess statue can be found.

Tarlach was right… More than half of the goddess statue has been destroyed.

This dungeon, in where the destroyed goddess statue is located, is a single story dungeon where you will meet monsters that appear in regular Barri Dungeon.  Be well prepared when you enter the Boss Room, as you will have to battle the Flying Swords as well as Wisps.

When you defeat all the monsters in the Boss Room, the entrance to the Other World will open before you, and you will get a glimpse of someone’s memory.

2) Ruairi

…Even with all that, for you to select Rian as the heir apparent…

Esras…it's something even I have no control over…
That kid has a different future that awaits him…
He can't be the lord of this town… everyone will suffer if he becomes one.

Is it … because of that contract…?

…Sigh…
…If I had known that the child inherits the father's sins…
then I would have made a different choice…

…why, father…
why…

Seems like Ruairi had a dream about his childhood.

Ah, there he is now with Triona.

[Triona]
Ruairi? Ruairi? Wake up...

[Ruairi]
...Ahhh...

[Triona]
…Nightmares…?

[Ruairi]
...Triona...

[Triona]
...Ruairi you looked like you were in much agony... and that concerned me quite a bit… so…

[Ruairi]
…Was I really…?

[Triona]
I think you're too tensed up... worrying about the impending ceremony tonight.

…It's still a while before the sun rises… get some sleep...

[Ruairi]
Okay… thanks, Triona.

[Triona]
…Um... Ruairi...?

[Ruairi]
 ...What is it?

[Triona]
…Um... if it's alright with you.. can you tell me how… your father was like...?

[Ruairi]
 ...

[Triona]
…Um... Never mind. Don't worry about it.

[Ruairi]
......
…You should go get some sleep too.

The cinematic clip will conclude in silence.

3) The Other World

Go through the door to the Other World, and the world you will arrive in will be a place that mirrors Bangor.

Seeing the bleak and desolate Bangor, it’s frightening to think that someone is here alone, trembling in fear.

In the following episode, you will be able to identify who it is that trembles in fear alone in this place and discover why he is so terrified.

[Note 1]
The Other World that Tarlach mentions is not the same world outside of Erinn you see in G1; you must purchase a pass from Gilmore in order to enter. If you fail to enter this world, you must go back and purchase the pass again.
