Ancient Secrets of Irinid - Main Storyline - Part 2
story
This post is based on “The Tropical River”, the main storyline behind Mabinogi’s Irinid Storyline Quests. If you do not wish to find out about what happens next, feel free to return to the previous page and view other strategy guides.

2. The Lost Memory of the Ancients

What could the sealed memory of the Ancient Natives, Ancient Elves, and Ancient Giants all mean?  While there seems to be threats of a dragon, we will search for clues regarding the prophecy through the NPCs in Cor Village in this chapter.

1) A New Prophecy

When you reenter Erinn after having broken all the seals, you will see a new clip.

Fire showered the land from the sky.

Scorching flames are burning the jungle

and drying up the Suytu River

Now...
Time is...
Running out.

In the new video clip, the vicious dragon appears, intensifying the ominous signs.  You can’t help but begin to worry about the future of Uladh and Iria.

2) The Lost Memory of the Ancients

After seeing the vision of the dragon, you will receive a message from Chief Kousai.  You can meet Kousai at Cor Village near Courcle.

Chief Kousai, Were you looking for me?

[Kousai]
May the Great Spirit of Irinid, be with you.
You’re agitated, not because of the mysterious ruins beyond the jungle
or the unforgettable fathomless illusion,

but because of your own anxiety and fears
that relentlessly chase after you.

What do you see in your dream?
Is it a memory from the past
or the present?
Is it from the future?

Find the Heart of Courcle.
It is the mirror of the continent of Iria that reflects the memory of the past, present, and future.

[Kousai]
The Heart of Courcle isn’t just a legend.
Before it magically vanished from the ruins,
it was here beside us.

Oh, youth of Iria,
consider everything happening around you
as signs of your destiny.

As this destiny has led you to the beginning of all of this,
it’ll lead you to the end.
You may not see it coming, but be patient; it’ll help you move forward.

I’ve got something for you:
this is tea made of Lipai Roots.
It’ll help you relieve uneasiness and clear your mind.

Once your conversation with Chief Kawsay is finished, you will receive a [Lipai Tea].

When you use the [Lipai Tea] from the Inventory, you will see a new clip.

…The time has come…

The land is released from its burning shackles, gushing out lifeless soil.

You will be able to see the Heart of Courcle in the clip that is shown after drinking the Lipai tea.  Is it saying that once the burning land is released, disaster will follow?  Though it isn’t much, that seems to be somewhat of a clue.

3) Tupai’s Request

Where do you even begin looking for the Heart of Courcle?

While waiting, you receive a message from Tupai.

Tupai is a wolf-boy you can find at Cor Village.

Because he was raised by animals, he can communicate with animals and teach you the Taming skill. Next to Tupai is his friend, the Otter Luwai.  Although he can’t speak the language of Humans, he sells food products just as the Humans do.

 Tupai, what’s the matter?

[Tupai]
Tupai, Tupai,
that’s my name.

A few nights after Tupai and Luwai went to the ruins of Irai Falls,
Luwai suddenly said that he would borrow Voight’s L-Rod
for the adventure.
Tupai wanted to follow him,
but Luwai said the place is filled with sand that makes eyes blurry and itchy.

A few nights later, Luwai came back safely,
but he changed.
Lately, Luwai looks very sad.

Luwai loves eating Rainbow Trout.
Bringing him some Rainbow Trout may
make him feel better.

A place with frequent sandstorms… sounds a lot like the desert in Connous.  If he went to Connous after visiting the ruins under the waterfall, perhaps he knows something about the Heart of Courcle.  In order to retrieve information from Luwai, you’ll probably have to cheer him up first with Rainbow Trout.

We will go see Luwai in Emain Macha after catching some Rainbow Trout.
